Introduction

by Mariana Bozesan

It is a well-known fact that human beings are very different from each other. Science today acknowledges that we possess what it is called biochemical individuality. In other words, no two people have the same levels of cholesterol, triglycerides or iron in their blood. This is also true of our bio-psychological make-up. Under stress we all react differently: Some people get nervous and anxious; others get angry and impatient; and a third category may simply walk away unaffected. Furthermore, one person drinks one sip of coffee and her nerves get jangled while another person downs three cups of black espresso and nothing happens.

If we are to live at our perfect weight easily and effortlessly, then we must respect our uniqueness at all our levels - physically, emotionally and intellectually. Understanding our body type helps us to achieve that.

The most refined way of determining your own body type is Ayurveda, the 5,000 years old science of life. Therefore, it is a great pleasure to present our expert in Ayurvedic medicine, Dr. Walter "Shantree" Kacera. Dr. Kacera is a Weight Loss and Detoxification Expert, an Ayurvedic Live-Food Nutritionist, a Therapeutic and Shamanic Herbalist as well as a Constitutional Iridologist with over 30 years experience in the Natural Healing Arts.

Shantree received his doctorate in Nutritional Medicine and Herbalism in the 1970's. His passion in life is to study and apply the benefits of a high-energy Ayurvedic live-food approach to weight loss, healing and overall wellbeing. In his private practice, Dr. Kacera has healed, counseled, supported and empowered tens of thousands of clients on their journey to health and vitality.

He co-facilitates workshops and retreats with his wife Lorenna at numerous centers in Canada, the United States of America and Costa Rica. They can be reached through their website at www.thelivingcentre.com.

How to Lose Weight with Ayurveda and Enzymes
"When diet is wrong medicine is of no use.
When diet is correct medicine is of no need. "

In Ayurveda, enzymes translate into what is called agni- our digestive fire- our spark of life. Therefore, enzymes are especially important when addressing body type imbalances with Ayurveda. One of the keys to good health, longevity and balanced weight is choosing foods that are of the highest quality possible. These foods provide an abundance of energy through their natural life-force. These foods are in their natural organic state, as fresh as possible and in their wholesome form. Ayurveda describes these foods as the spark of life. For life supports life. If a seed does not sprout you know that its life-force has been lost. When a food is denatured it will be deficient in some of its life-giving properties including includes vitamins, minerals, amino acids and other essential nutrients. One of these nutrients is enzymes. A well known fact in Ayurveda is that once our fire is gone life ceases to be.
