Introduction

by Mariana Bozesan

From the very first moment of reading Dr. Chopra’s book The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success many years ago, I knew that I had come across a true master of mindbody medicine. I had rarely encountered such succinct teachings that, when applied, had the power to bring about lasting change in the shortest possible time.

After reading everything he had written, in March of 2002, I was fortunate enough to finally meet Dr. Chopra in person. It was at a memorable Tony Robbins cleansing seminar that I was attending. The author of Perfect Weight, Dr. Chopra lectured about the wisdom in his book Ageless Body, Timeless Mind. He talked about quantum healing, the power of attention and intention as well as how our thoughts influence our reality. What impressed me most was that Deepak had the ability to speak about the ideas of modern physicists such as Heisenberg, Bohr and Einstein as clearly and effortlessly as he could teach the 5000-year-old Indian healing system known as Ayurveda.

A trained medical doctor, Deepak’s philosophy of physical, emotional and spiritual healing is rooted in both modern science as well as the Vedic scriptures from ancient India. For me, his ideas are both essential and beautiful because they encourage us to listen to and to take advantage of our innate intelligence—especially when it comes to bring about lasting change such as losing permanent weight, re-instating health and vitality and gaining a higher quality of life.

Most recently Deepak has been applying these ideas toward world peace by conceptualizing peace as an expression of our collective and individual ability to create reality. In his latest books The Book of Secrets and Peace is the Way, Dr. Chopra shows how we can become whole and healthy on the inside. By doing that we begin to shift our own reality to the better, feel more connected to one another and start making a difference in the world around us.

Aside from the intellectual and spiritual connection I feel with Deepak and his work, he is someone who “walks his talk”. He is one of the warmest, kindest, most loving, non-judgmental and highly motivating people you’re ever likely to meet. Not only is he able to express complicated ideas in a very simple, understandable way, but also has he that rare ability to create an environment where you feel love and connection with who you really are. Such a formidable combination of intellect and genuine love is truly rare. Thus, it is a great honor for me to introduce to you a dear friend and one of the most extraordinary people on earth today: Dr. Deepak Chopra.

Emotional Wholeness
A dream that I dream alone is but only a dream.
But a dream that we dream together is reality.

Being human means having emotions! If we openly and honestly deal with our feelings while they’re occurring we will avoid the accumulation of harmful emotions. We can be further proactive by avoiding harmful chemicals, foods and other poisonous substances from our environments that disturb our well-being and interfere with our energy and creativity. Without protective mechanisms in place, we build a toxic dump within our minds and bodies that prevent us from living a creative, vital and fulfilling life.Being human means having emotions! Now you know the program. If you transform yourself into a peacemaker, you won’t become an activist marching in the streets. You will not be "anti" anything. No money is required. All you are asked to do is to go within and dedicate yourself to peace.

It just might work. Now you know the program. If you transform yourself into a peacemaker, you won’t become an activist marching in the streets. You will not be "anti" anything. No money is required. All you are asked to do is to go within and dedicate yourself to peace.

Why War Ends With You
27 Feb 2006 at 01:10PM
The approach of personal transformation is the idea of the future for ending war. It depends on the only advantage that people of peace have over warmakers: sheer numbers. If enough people in the world transformed themselves into peacemakers, war could end. The leading idea here is critical mass. It took a critical mass of human beings to embrace electricity and fossil fuels, to teach evolution and adopt every major religion. When the time is right and enough people participate, critical mass can change the world. The approach of personal transformation is the idea of the future for ending war. War is the plague that human beings bring upon themselves. It is also a plague we might be able to end. On any given day since you and I were born, some part of the world has been at war–in 2003 the total number of open conflicts was thirty. In the twentieth century at least 108 million people died in wars. Of the 20 largest military budgets on earth, 14 belong to developing countries. The United States spends more on its military than the next 16 countries combined.War is the plague that human beings bring upon themselves. It is also a plague we might be able to end.
