Lunch Habits for Successful Weight Loss

Permanent weight success comes only through healthy habits that have been established over a longer period of time. I have summarized some of the best recommendations of our experts as follows:
- Breathing awareness: Before lunch, perform a breathing routine to get more oxygen into your body to support and increase your metabolism. As you breathe in count (for example to 8), hold the breath for four times that count (32) and breathe out for twice the breathe-in count (16). In addition, this process ensures that your body has enough oxygen to help you in your detoxification process and to create the health and energy you need for the day.
- Green drink: Have a teaspoon of green drink mixed with one tablespoon of essential fatty acids (such as flaxseed oil, Udo’s Choice oils or olive oil) in a glass of water. This will energize and alkalize your body and speed up weight loss.
- Lunch meal: Have your heaviest and largest meal of the day at lunchtime. This will ensure that by the time you go to bed you will have used up all of the calories you had eaten during the day. Also,
- Follow the 70-30 rule for all the foods on your plate (70 percent alkalizing foods and 30 percent protein or carbohydrate).
- Take digestive enzymes with your meal.
- Practice proper food combining: Decide which you want to have, protein or carbohydrates, for that meal and eat only the one you choose with vegetables or salad.
- Eat moderately and ask your body if it is still hungry before getting a second helping.
- Eat mindfully and:
- Enjoy the tastes and flavors in your mouth
- Do not speak while there is still food in your mouth;
- Do not put more food in your mouth while you are still chewing;
- Sit down to eat and don’t watch TV or read a book while eating.
- Go for a walk: After lunch, go for a walk, preferably in nature, even if it is only for 10 minutes. Let go of all of your regular thoughts and focus your attention on the natural elements around you.Watch the sky, trees and bushes. Listen to the birds, the wind and children.
- Cultivate gratefulness and bring into your awareness the fact that you are actually very fortunate to live the wonderful life you have been given, while every couple of minutes a child starves in some part of this world.
