Major change, such as weight loss, is always challenging and can be scary because it takes us from the known to the unknown. No matter how bad we felt doing the same old thing, we still had a sense of certainty for we knew what the result was. Thus, to lose weight fast and keep it off forever, you have to slowly interrupt old and destructive patterns that no longer serve you and develop new, more empowering habits. The best way to change old habits is to feed your brain with new and more pleasurable experiences that are not associated with eating unhealthy foods or other unhealthy habits. Thus, from today on:
- Have Fun: Promise yourself to have fun in the process. This is the most important component of this program. Instead of making every step heavy and difficult make it fun and encourage your brain to associate pleasure with losing weight and pain with keeping it. By creating enjoyment and a sense of playfulness along the way your brain will support you in breaking old patterns and habits which did not work for you in the past. As you condition your new healthy habits through daily practice they will become second nature. You will begin to feel better, healthier, be more energetic, vital and more beautiful. Before you know it you will have created a new life for yourself that is much more in line with your true nature.
- Commit To Yourself: Unfortunately, as good as the advice of the experts in this program is, neither buying nor reading this program will be enough to lose weight and keep it off. You will have to commit yourself to and implement the recommendations made in this program. Once you decide to pursue the path of honoring the beauty of who you are as a human being, deep down into your soul, regardless of how you look on the outside, you will discover that once you build your health from the inside out, your ideal weight and beauty will manifest almost instantaneously and effortlessly.
- Cultivate Happy Thoughts and the Right Friends: We can eat the best foods but if we are unhappy we create the same toxic and acidic environment that makes the body hold on to the fats. Becoming the master of our thoughts and thinking is just as important as eating the right foods and exercising. Therefore, become very selective about what you put into your brain and make sure you surround yourself with people who support you and your new healthy life style.
- Thank your body every day. Take a moment and look in the mirror every morning to thank each and every one of your organs for serving you so wonderfully for so long. Thank your heart for beating 70 times per minute without interruption since you were born. Thank your brain and body for serving you without having to tell them what to do. Thank your eyes for showing you the beauty of life in all its color and beauty. Thank your arms and legs for being there for you every time you need them.
- Celebrate every moment of your life: Begin loving and acknowledging yourself, your beautiful mind, body and spirit every day. Search for every possible reason to celebrate every little success along the way. Life is the most precious thing you have. Appreciate it. Appreciate every tree you see, every smile to receive, every kind word you hear and every good thing you do. Every time you realize that you are satiated and manage to stop eating by pushing your plate away, celebrate like crazy. Celebration and the feeling of pride will send your brain the empowering signal that you are committed to changing your disempowering eating habits and you are ready to adopt a higher standard for yourself.
- Reward your successes in weight loss: Associating pleasure with your new habits is key to replacing the old and disempowering ones. When you catch yourself doing something that support you in this program, give yourself a pad on your back, a smile in a mirror, a joyous remark like "You did it!". Search and find reasons to reward and empower yourself with something that takes you further in this program and in life.
We all deserve to be healthy and live in a body of perfect weight. In Ayurveda, the traditional medicine of India, it is said that "desire is pure potentiality seeking manifestation". This means that just by having the desire ( de-sire, which in Latin means of the Lord) we also receive the plan for its manifestation. In other words, the whole Universe conspires to support you on your quest for the ideal figure and a healthy bodymind. All that is needed now is your own commitment and participation.
If you are truly committed, this program can be the beginning of a wonderful voyage back to your beautiful thin and vital self. Just as T.S. Elliot reminded us in his beautiful sentence " We shall not cease from exploration and the end of all our exploring will be to arrive where we started and know the place for the first time."
